It seems that YouTube is trying to rebuild the hype for its annual year-in-review “Rewind” video by teasing that some of the platform’s most controversial personalities will make appearances this year.
YouTube Rewind has been dropping teasers left right and centre about this year’s round-up video, and fans are actually quite happy with what they’re seeing.
The first gif confirmed BTS’ appearance, with a shot from their music video for Boy With Luv, as well as featuring a shot from BLACKPINK’s Kill This Love – both of which broke YouTube records. While fans were outraged last year when celebs like Will Smith featured in favour of homegrown creators like PewDiePie, Shane Dawson, and KSI, it seems everything has changed this year.
PewDiePie – real name Felix Kjellberg, Shane Dawson, James Charles, were all seen to make appearances.
Specific videos and moments are shown, like PewDiePie’s wedding video, and James Charles’ No More Lies video, posted immediately after his explosive feud with Tati Westbrook.
